EV Charging on your way into Manzanita, Oregon

From the North

The closest DC-fast-ish charger (only 50kW) when driving south on the 101 is in Cannon Beach at the Cannon Beach RV Resort, 14 miles from Manzanita. They have a DC-fast charger operated by EVCS with CCS and CHAdeMO plugs. Be aware–it’s on the opposite side of the 101 from nearby Cannon Beach restaurants and coffee stops. Follow the sidewalk along E Sunset Blvd under the 101 overpass to get to Pelican Brewery and the shops in town.   Or plan on taking a prolonged pit stop and grabbing a snack at the General Store hosted on the property.

For Tesla drivers (and more as Tesla opens its Supercharger Network), the more popular stop is likely the Seaside Factory Outlet Center in Seaside, 23-miles north of  Manzanita. It has eight NACS chargers ranging between 72kW and 150kW, so it should be easy to grab enough energy to bring you up to 80-85% state-of -charge.. Meanwhile, pop into the Pendleton or Nike outlet stores to see what’s on sale.

From the South

The Tillamook area (~25 miles away) is your best friend when traveling north on the 101 to Manzanita. Due to its convenient location where Highways 6 and the 101 intersect, there are multiple L3 fast-chargers operated by ChargePoint, EVSE, and Tesla. There are also some complimentary L2 chargers around the city, such as those operated by the Tillamook PUD or at the Tillamook Creamery Visitors center. The latter are often full due to the popularity of that destination for travelers (and their knock-out ice cream).
